πŸ“’ DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AWARENESS – PA ENUA EXECUTIVE OFFICERS

On 15 October 2026, the Ombudsman, Niki Rattle, held an awareness session at Crown Beach Resort for Pa Enua Executive Officers.

The session provided an opportunity to raise awareness about the role and functions of the Office of the Ombudsman – Te Mato Akamoeau, and to share important information on disaster preparedness ahead of the upcoming cyclone season.

As part of this initiative, disaster preparedness brochures were handed over to the Executive Officers to support the sharing of practical safety information with their island communities. The brochures provide guidance on preparing for cyclones, flooding and other emergencies, building emergency kits, planning evacuations, and ensuring that people with disabilities and those with special needs are included in disaster planning.

🀝 A joint initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Office of the Ombudsman, this collaboration highlights the importance of working together to build safer, better-informed and more resilient communities across the Cook Islands.

As we approach the cyclone season, we encourage everyone to BE PREPARED, STAY INFORMED AND STAY SAFE. πŸŒ΄πŸŒ€
